Her poems and prose have been widely published and anthologized and she is the recipient of many awards for her work, including an NEA, a Guggenheim, a Whiting Award and an Award in Literature from The American Academy of Arts and Letters.

A Lion Among Men
Join us in welcoming Gregory Maguire for a reading and discussion of A LION AMONG MEN, his newest book in the WICKED series. The Albany-born author and SUNY Albany grad is best known for WICKED: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST. The musical adaption of WICKED earned 10 Tony nominations.

Miles Corwin is a former LA Times reporter and author of three nonfiction books. Corwin was named an original member of the "Brill's Content" All-Star Newspaper Team, a collection of what the media magazine called "the best newspaper writers in the business." His latest book is AND STILL WE RISE.

Evanescent Isle
Xu Xi, a Chinese-Indonesian native of Hong Kong, is the author of seven books of fictions and essays. She has won numerous literary awards and has been a writer-in-residence at Lingnan University in Hong Kong. SUNY Plattsburgh, where she earned her BA, accorded her its distinguished alumni award in 2004.
