Poet Suzanne Rancourt will read from Billboard in the Clouds, a collection of her poems that received the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas First Book Award (Curbstone Press). Born and raised in West Central Maine, Rancourt is Abenaki, Bear Clan, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. She holds Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Vermont College and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from SUNY Albany. She has been published in numerous journals and finds her inspiration from the environment, the earth, and her moral sense. Suzanne's poetry and her reading will highlight the preconceived notions and stereotypes that have had a direct impact on herself as an artist and human being. |
