Poet Suzanne Rancourt will read from Billboard in the Clouds, a collection of her poems that received the Native Writers' Circle of the Americas First Book Award (Curbstone Press). Born and raised in West Central Maine, Rancourt is Abenaki, Bear Clan, and a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and the United States Army. She holds Master of Fine Arts in Poetry from Vermont College and a Master of Science degree in Educational Psychology from SUNY Albany. She has been published in numerous journals and finds her inspiration from the environment, the earth, and her moral sense. Suzanne's poetry and her reading will highlight the preconceived notions and stereotypes that have had a direct impact on herself as an artist and human being.

Janine Pommy Vega, American Poet associated with the Beats, is the author of eighteen books and chapbooks since 1968, including The Green Piano (Godine), Mad Dogs of Triest (Black Sparrow) and Tracking the City Lights (City Lights).

Jeff Goodell's latest book, BIG COAL: THE DIRTY SECRET BEHIND AMERICA'S ENERGY FUTURE (Houghton Mifflin), was chosen as one of the best nonfiction books of 2007 by Kirkus Reviews. The New York Times called it "...a compelling indictment of one of the country's biggest, most powerful and most antiquated industries...well-written, timely, and powerful."

Richard Kenney is the author of THE EVOLUTION OF THE FLIGHTLESS BIRD (Yale, 1984); ORRERY (Atheneum, 1985); THE INVENTION OF THE ZERO (Knopf, 1993); and THE ONE-STRAND RIVER (Knopf, 2008). His work has attracted honors over the years, among them the Yale Series of Younger Poets Prize, the Rome Prize in Literature, and fellowships from the Guggenheim, MacArthur and Lannan Foundations.
