| Maxine Kumin has published fifteen volumes of poetry, as well as novels, short stories, a memoir, and essays on country living. She was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1973, the Poets' Prize in 1994, the Aiken/Taylor Award for Modern Poetry in 1995, and the Ruth E. Lilly Prize in 1999.
